Forestry Mulching

Forestry Mulching

Forestry mulching is a land-clearing method that uses a single machine to cut, grind, and clear vegetation such as trees, brush, and stumps. The machine—often a skid steer, excavator, or dedicated forestry mulcher—is equipped with a rotary drum or disc mulcher attachment that shreds vegetation into fine mulch.

This technique is commonly used for:

  • Land clearing and site preparation
  • Trail and road maintenance

One of its key benefits is that it leaves a layer of mulch on the ground, which helps with erosion control, soil health, and moisture retention. Unlike traditional methods that involve cutting, hauling, and burning, forestry mulching is efficient, eco-friendly, and minimally disruptive to the landscape.
